Course Description:
ESRI Introduction to ArcGIS Course
The two day course will be taught by Dr.Wesley Thomas, an ESRI Authorized ArcView Instructor, at West Chester University's Center for Geographic Information Systems and Spatial Analysis Laboratory. The course provides the hands-on experience and conceptual overview needed to take advantage of ArcGIS software's display, editing, analysis and presentation mapping functions. This course teaches the basic concepts of arc-node topology and how attributes can be associated with them.Students learn the components of displaying maps within views and performing queries and geographic analyses to create presentation quality tables, charts, and layouts.
Students will learn how ArcGIS can be applied to a Land Records System for a county government. Course materials are provided. No pre-requisitesor previous knowledge of desktop mapping software are required prior to taking this course. Registrants should be familiar with "Windows" software.
